Initially, Enel X Pay will be available in Italy and later it will arrive in Colombia, and consists of a 100% digital account to make payments and transfers in real time through the smartphone application.
This Monday, Enel X (a subsidiary of Enel , majority shareholder of Emgesa and Codensa ) launched Enel X Pay, Enel X Servicios Financieros’ online bank account, choosing Italy and Colombia as the first countries to carry out the pilots.
This new product comes thanks to the association with Mastercard , which allows users to make payments and transfers in real time through the smartphone application, have a digital or physical card and control the transactions and expenses of the whole family .
“The disintermediation of traditional financial services gives us the option to enter a highly competitive sector, contributing our capacity for innovation and development of new solutions, from financial advisory and management services to insurance services”, said Francesco Venturini, CEO of Enel X.
Enel X Pay is a native digital account, with a card, that allows users to carry out multiple types of transactions : from the payment of bills, taxes, to the transfer of money between peers without additional costs and donations destined to solidarity initiatives to associations .
In addition, the idea of Enel X Pay is that customers can pay for the charging of electric cars in the Hubject circuit infrastructures, which has more than 750 commercial partners and 250,000 interoperable charging points around the world. Something that is expected can also be done in Colombia, taking into account Enel’s progress in sustainable mobility.
Users can manage the Enel X Pay bank account directly from the application that comes with a digital and physical card. The card is made from plant-based bioplastic and is linked to Mastercard.
Enel X Pay is now available in Italy on the Google Play Store (Android) and, in the coming days, on the Apple App Store.
It should be remembered that during the last year, the shareholders of Enel Emgesa and Enel Codensa approved modifying the bylaws of both companies to expand their corporate purpose and allow them to provide financial and insurance services in the country.
In addition, in Colombia, Enel already has a presence in the financial sector through Crédito Fácil Codensa, with one million clients throughout the country located mostly in Bogotá and in levels 1,2 and 3.
